Question Broadband in Iloilo?

Is there broadband in Iloilo? PLDT?

My in-laws will be going home in another 6 months or so and I'm giving them our 20" iMac to use when they get there. But it won't be much use without a decent connection.

Any suggestions?

Hi!

I cam across this. In short, it seems PLDT MyDSL is the preferred option because Globe and Bayantel have slower speeds. The only complaint is that it can take a long time to get after-sales service for all three.

It is best to ask the neighbors for their recommendations.

Given the experiences of myself and my friend I would recommend Smart Bro, the rooftop based one not the USB one. Where I live in Villa (or Arevalo), only SmartBro was available and so I signed up for that and have no complaints. Indeed, I praise their service. They installed the antenna quickly and come out to repair it quickly as well.

My friend had the completely opposite experience with PLDT DSL. He signed up for their service and they never came out to install it. Months passed and he never saw them. He called and harassed them all to no avail.

Given these two experiences, and my experiences elsewhere with Smart and PLDT (non-internet), I would go with Smart. It's not even close.
