Packed lunch aka baon
Hello folks,
I am sure that with all the things they put into fast food and what not, it is almost always better and cheaper to brown-bag your lunch. I am wondering that maybe you guys have a short-list of food you put in your brown bag or lunch box.
Would even be better if they're kid-friendly. hahaha

Something easy to cook for me, whenever I bring packed lunch at work. Hotdogs, eggs, Spam (not the mail -- the real one, hehe)...
If I can't cook in the morning, century tuna or leftovers from dinner. That adobo still tastes great after heating it for a while in the microwave.

Adobo is a mainstay of Pinoy packed lunches. Easy to cook, doesn't spoil easily and tastes great, hot or cold.

Baon for me is usually leftovers. I usually pack my kids lunches for school. It's not quite like in the Philippines where we can have a full rice meal packed for the kids lunch so I usually end up just making sandwiches. Nothing fancy, sometimes ham, cheese and lettuce on white. Sometimes I make pita pockets with shaved chicken, carrots and salad lettuce. Add a piece of fruit and some healthy snack for recess and that's the kids baon taken cared of.

my baon is either pbj sandwich, fruits or meal replacement bars.i rarely bring any baon to school anymore, but everytime I go snowboarding then you can expect me to carry pbj sandwich for lunch. I guess i can afford the $40 gas for the trip but can't afford the $10 for lunch, but hey I saved $10.

Well, one of my kids bring packed lunch and snack for recess. Snacks usually come in either an apple or several small oranges or sometimes her favorite blueberry jam sandwich.
Lunch? Pesto pasta, adobo with rice, pasta with tuna from can, stir-fried sukiyaki beef with rice. Mondays usually are for veggie meals so we add a couple of sticks of carrot.
I am sure she's looking for other variants for lunch - so help.

When i'm rushed, I make a sandwich with cold cuts from SAnti's deli, romaine lettuce, jap mayo and tomatoes.
Pasta with putansesca sauce, etc. Is another standby. I also keep tetra packs of soy milk/malted soy milk at my desk.
I really need to cook on the weekends to make ulams for workdays.
