CD Copying Stuff-up : Burns multiple copies of single song

Something is REALLY bothering me here. I tried burning a copy of a 22-track audio CD onto a Princo 2x-56x CD-R (700MB) and I get just the first track copied 22 times on the friggin CD. Burning at 24x on a 2.0Ghz iMac G5 2GB RAM running 10.4.6 and using Toast Titanium 6.1.

The second time around I try it out on a Princo CD-RW 4x-12x (700MB), so incase something had gone wrong I could always erase it. Nothing went wrong. It burned perfectly. So I chuck in another Princo CD-R (same media as the first) and... BOOM! It does it again... burns multiple copies of the same track.

What's going on here???!!

Maybe you can try other media brand. Although the same brand and CDRW burned perfectly, there is a big difference in the silver coating between CDR and CDRW.

I was thinking of burning at a lower speed... but then again, I think I've wasted enough CDs.

OOooh.. I can almost hear those PeeCee users cackling about how "Mac users need to burn stuff at lower speeds coz they suck..."

Straight Audio Copy... haven't tried iTunes, but I did have a similar problem with iTunes doing this before with songs mixed from MP3s.

Since you're using Toast, why don't you first save the audio CD it as a disc image then mount it and choose copy from the toast menu.

I had the same problem and I think I know what it is. If you're using Roxio Toast, please upgrade to the latest version 6.1.1 or 7.0.2. That should solve it. I hope it helps.

For that, I like to use Disk Utility to make an image and then hilight the image in the column, then click "Burn" at the top of the window. I think it's faster and easier than Toast in that situation.
