Well, they did say it.
"...The kit comes with a data modem, PC software and a user guide in a DVD casing and a cool denim sock for storing the modem. The modem will work in Windows 2000 and XP. Before the end of the year, the modem will be compatible with other operating systems..."

Isn't that st*pid? What's the difference when surfing using a Mac vs a PC?

the difference is that the modem being used for wireless internet uses require different drivers for mac and pc. some modems do not have drivers for the mac and hence it necessarily will not work with a mac.

I'm referring to the pricing, not the modem. And if it's just the drivers (and not the hardware) that will make the modem work on a Mac, that wouldn't justify a higher fee for Mac users.
