Websites that make Safari hang

cnn.com consistently makes Safari hang. I am still using Mac OS X 10.4 and I have religiously stayed abreast with software updates.

Are there websites that do the same with your Safari? And what do these websites have in common that cause this problem?

I have an iBook G3 still running 10.4.11 and cnn.com loads fine with my Safari 4.0.4. Any specific page at cnn.com or even the front page can cause yours to hang?

Enjoying (1) retirement, (2) granddaughter [5 mos 2 days today], and (3) the American Dream in general. What's with the "lost job"?

cnn.com's home page will show, but many times I get the spinning ball and can't get to the new articles. When the page does load OK, the videos make Safari hang.

Glad you're enjoying all those 3 Me? Well, I actually didn't lost the job, I know where it is, they just don't want me there anymore LOL! That's OK I'm sure I'll find something better.

I tried several pages/news article within CNN and it always does work for me. One thing with this machine is that this is a freshly re-installed system. I had to rebuild it from scratch for the wife, erasing the whole disk and everything, and I haven't installed anything else aside from iWork. So, this is a pretty clean system. This could be the reason why it works.

Have you checked available disk space? Temporarily cached Internet files on your hard drive could be colliding with amount of space needed by virtual memory. Hope this helps.

I have 11 gig of hard disk space available. Where do I find these cached files so I can trash them? Is this the same reason my iChat will not allow me to receive video?

The cnn.com problem of hanging is experienced in both my PB 17 and iBook G4 laptops.

Scratch previous suggestion. 11 GB is much more than enough available space.
