Try using B on your AEBS to see if your card can connect. G is faster but has shorter range.

Adding a static IP can be done on the TCP/IP pane of the Network System Preference.

You can contact gonz at twitter.com/g0nz. he is there everyday.

    Hi Rom,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

To answer you questions, my AEBS is just working fine and I guess it is in "G" which is the faster mode and shouldn't a slower WiFi card be able to work on it ?? I wouldn't know how to check the AEBS if it is in the B or G or B/G mode.

Also, how do i put in an IP address into the Powerbook From what I understood, the IP address (169 xxx something) generated internally by the Powerbook is why I cannot connect to the Internet (something about, it has to be 192 xxx something).

Also, the Wifi card can detect my AEBS, because the name of the AEBS is shown, but there is not signal strength, and it says that it is still searching.

So, I am stumped, and as you must know by now, that's quite easy !

Anyone, you can suggest that might be able to help me ?? Gonz ?? Haven't seen him
on PinoyMac for quite a long time now.

Hope you can still help. Thanks.

    Cheers and God bless,

    Tom

    Rom,

I have another WiFi connexion problem. Can you help ?

Powerbook 1400, w/Orinoco WiFi Cardbus, OS 9.1, Internet Explorer 5

Can't seem to get into my AEBS, no connexion, so no signal strength

IP generated in TCP/IP Control Panel window is only internal so I cannot
    surf.

For the whole low-down, please check my thread on Old Mac hardware forum.

    Cheers,

    Tom

    Hi Rom,

Have started some threads lately. One just now.

    Question:

Why is it, this new thread I posted in the Maclink forum did not appear in the New Posts ? i can't seem to find it.

    Cheers,

    Tom
